Maybe a foreign forum item, but this is priceless so here it is;
Seatbelts on planes are pointless, says Ryanair boss - Telegraph

What an utter moron (sociopath more likely). Stats clearly show that the majority of crashs are survivable, and seat belts obviously help there.

Pretty sure that if there is an accident, those that are standing up in the back of the plane will become cabin missiles as the plane loses a lot of speed real fast.

I'll recall how useless seatbelts are next time I hit heavy turbulence.

No, he's a businessman, laughing all the way to the bank.

On European expansion: "Germans will crawl *******-naked over broken glass to get low fares."

On the in-flight experience: "Anyone who thinks Ryanair flights are some sort of bastion of sanctity where you can contemplate your navel is wrong. We already bombard you with as many in-flight announcements and trolleys as we can. Anyone who looks like sleeping, we wake them up to sell them things."

On customer service: "People say the customer is always right, but you know what - they're not. Sometimes they are wrong and they need to be told so."

And sometimes a carrier needs to be told it's wrong when it treats it's customers with disdain .
Are things realy that bad economically that someone would put up with being talked down too just to save a couple of pounds ?
The mindset is just disgusting.

That too. Sociopaths (or psychopaths) make great business executives.

Or people just want to save money - see the first quote above. It's a free market. There's plenty of information available about about Ryan Air fees for printing boarding passes and check-in fees and locations where the ground travel from your "destination" airport to destination city is more than the airfare across the continent. And yet people keep buying tickets.

Gordon Bethune once said, "You can make a pizza so cheap no one will eat it." It would appear that Ryan Air has not yet reached that point.

Rick, I can see it now, "Machiavelli Air."
