to Bill and Hillary Clinton National/Adams Field. I hate it when it takes 30 seconds to announce the airport name on CTAF.
One of my local airports went from Columbia Downtown, to Owens Field, to Jim Hamilton/Owens Field airport over the last 20 years.
It's confusing and dangerous when locals use one name and transients use another, although both may be considered proper, for example: I had a recent trip to KTTA - Sanford or Raleigh Exec. We could be position reporting to what the other one thinks is a different airport.

I once got yelled at by a passenger for only saying Sarasota in my PA. I was living in New Hampshire, flying out of BOS to SRQ. So in my PA, of course I say, "Flying time to Sarasota is..."
Well, when we arrived, I was standing in the doorway saying goodbye to the pax, when this fat doofus sticks his fat finger in my chest and spits out, "It's Sarasota BRADENTON airport! I'm the Mayor of Bradenton, I wish you guys would GET IT RIGHT!"
I wanted to punch him in the face, but instead, I looked him right in the eye and said, "Where the HELL is Bradenton? I've NEVER even heard of Bradenton! Are you sure it exists?"
Needless to say, after that, I never mentioned Bradenton in my PA's, ever. Everybody goes to Sarasota for a vacation, NOBODY goes to...that other place!

Capt climbs in the cockpit, looks at me, and without me even asking the question goes "Windsor Locks".

I love this topic.
Once made a PA welcoming everyone to the "Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport"....deplaning pax approaches me and loudly and angrily states, "We're not in Dallas TEXAS, or in Fort Worth TEXAS right now". I just gave him a confused expression.
