Get up at 6:30, feed the dogs, make a pot of coffee, get the paper. Drink the coffee, eat some oatmeal, take a dump.

Iron my shirts, pack my bags, bring in the dogs, take a dump.

Book my jumpseat home, take a shower, shave, take a dump.

Get dressed, get in car, drive to airport, take a dump, while waiting for late inbound aircraft.

Get on jumpseat of said late inbound, go to ATL, take a dump.

Sign in for trip to Johannesburg, get the flightplan, plotting charts, wx charts, read 10,000 NOTAMS, brief the Flight Attendants, go to the plane, take a dump....

Fly 15 hours, wait 30 minutes for the van, ride on said van for 45 minutes on bumpy roads, get to hotel, wait 20 minutes for room key, go to room, take a dump.

Shower, get dressed, meet the crew for happy hour, buy all the drinks, go to dinner, buy all the F/A's meals and drinks, go back to the hotel, take a dump.

Repeat as necessary, until you get to go home, and then, finally, take a dump.

Get travel info on Tuesday. Wake up early Wednesday, airline to airplane. Fly around rich people for 15 days. On day 14 (after a 14 hrs duty day) get travel info for home. Day 15, airline home. Sit on my couch with beer and Chipotle for 15 days. Repeat.

Go to work from the crashpad, fly a leg, then another, then another, and then another. Go back to crashpad for the night and do it for another three days. That is the life of an outstation based cape air pilot.
