I think you mean more-aggressive-than-ever-before regionals, but not desperate. Desperate means higher pay. Perhaps mid-fifties for a first year regional FO, plus an annual raise for every year of additional service. More advertising effort is not what I would call desperate.

Called, and emailed by a few of the bottom feeder jets. Oddly not some of the even more bottom feeder Tprop airlines.
GLA may have emailed me but i have all their emials going to my spam folder automatically.
Iv never even applied to any of them. I think from doing one add on cfi cert one weekend at ATP they have my contact info from pilot pool or whatever its called.

They are the first in the country to raise the first year FO pay by almost 40%....

I get a lot of emails from XJet, almost once a week.
The content ranges from asking me to "update my flight time", "keep building more flight time" & more recently to "complete the airline apps"..
I keep getting emails from Commut air asking me to email pilot recruiting stating "willing to interview" to receive a pre-screening phone call...
Three un-solicited email invites from Republic, I never applied to them...
