Default Technical Questions

Not sure if this is the proper place to post this, but here goes ....

1) What happened to Tech Corner? Where should we (and especially Tech Maven) post if we find tech nuggets?

2) Why is it possible to edit some posts, but not others?

3) Is there a way to delete a post altogether?

3a) Is it possible to delete a thread, particularly one that I started?

4) The Ignore feature is great so I do not see the posts of certain people, but since many users use the quote function, I still end up having to read the posts I want to ignore. Is there some way to get around this?

The best chance of getting correct answers to your questions will probably be to "Report" your own post to get Paul's attention so he can give you the "straight scoop."

vBulletin (the software that runs this board) has numerous Administrator adjustable options. Not every forum using vBulletin will have the same features, since different Administrators configure them differently.

It is possible to edit posts, but only for a set amount of time after the posts are made. Once that amount of time has passed, the Edit button no longer appears.

Deleting posts is an option with vBulletin that apparently is not enabled here. It would be an option you would see while editing a post.

Deleting a thread would occur if you deleted the first post in a thread -- but, again, this option is apparently disabled at APC.

I share your pain about the Ignore feature and other people quoting the Ignored member. Short of Ignoring the people who insist on quoting the jerks, there's nothing you can do.

That just leaves Question 1 for Paul -- What happened to Tech Corner? I didn't even notice.

Well, Tech Maven, I hope you don't have to change your name, too. Hangar Maven? Money King?

Tony, I am already in touch with Paul. Not only is he The Hot Sexy Lover Dude, but he's busy with many other things all the time. Don't know what precisely, but I have a nagging feeling it does not bode well for the non-pilots here. (Better hurry up and get my PPL!).

So Paul, we want Tech Corner back! I know you are bigger than I am, but don't make me come over and hurt you!
