I have one on each ankle. $50 each. Relatively small, and each is nearly 20 years old, so it'd be more today. If I knew then what I know now, I'd the get ALPA logo in a circle with a line through it.

If you want to get real value get it on your face, that way everyone you meet can enjoy the "art".

I think some hookers would take offense to your associating them with us sailors...

Going to mcdonalds for a salad is like asking a hooker for a hug.

Fads and fashions come and go. But a poor decision to apply ink is forever.

Tattoos can be a great experience, or an awful one. Think long and hard about if you want one, and try to pick something with a personal meaning. Make sure it can be covered up, aviation is really conservative and they seem to really dislike tattoos (and beards, such a shame mine will have to go when I get to the airlines *sniffle*). As far as costs go it is usually based on time and complexity, and with tattoos you get what you pay for.

How about getting "MOM" with some barb wire on your arm.

It's kind of been covered, "MOM' with an anchor would be cool. The barbed wire, not so much

The barbed wire or "tribal" always cracks me up. "I'm gettin' a tribal tattoo bro".

Really, what "tribe" do you belong to? The Bag O'douche tribe?

Or worse, the girls with the "tribal" tramp stamp.

A lot of good artists charge you for the time. Not the art.if getting a custom piece you will probably pay by the hour.

Remember visible tattoos should be kept covered if your a pilot. I have ink...wearing long sleeves during the texas summer sucks.

That's less about grooming preference and all about your O2 mask not sealing, FWIW.

I know it, some airline pilots looked disgusted when they saw my beard (when I was a ramper). Usually the older more conservative guys though, younger guys didn't seem to mind too much (it is pretty neatly trimmed, not like I'm going Duck Dynasty or anything). One more reason to fly in Alaska
