nice loog books..
I've been looking for a good quality log book for quite some time. I've got two Jepp books both already full and I'm now ready for a 3rd, but I thought I'd look around for something a bit nicer... anyway, found this and wanted to share.. seems very high quality and the price is very reasonable.

Reasonable?
Its almost $60 without the international shipping. Personally, I like the Jepp Log and its less than $30 with free shipping off of Marvgolden.com.
If you want more useless columns, get the ASA book, and thats even cheaper.

BTW, did you bother to read the info on those log books, their construction and materials? I don't know about you, but something as important as my logbook (the written summary of my career) is worth it if I get the quality.
Jepp books, while they do the job aren't made to last a lifetime (unless you keep them put away and don't record leg by leg entries), more over the use a fake leather cover, and the binding on both of mine has come loose.
These books are made the way books used to be made... the same books you see at antiques book stores that are 100's of years old..
if that's not worth an extra $30 bucks for you (the price of a dinner at Red Lobster), then maybe you just don't care about quality and your idea of fine products is Walmart, which is fine.. it's not mine.

I appreciate it! Look like nice books, but I'm sticking with my Excel Spreadsheet from here on out.
As to the expense, let's see...
Private pilot license: $6000
Instrument license: $4000
Commercial license: $3500
Multiengine: $7000
CFI/II/ME: $4000
4 year degree: $35,000
Additional flying to build time for first job: $7000
Headset(s) over 10 years of flying: $1700
Logbook: $60 + shipping and handling
What's another $75?

If I was going to venture outside of the typical dimensions very far, I'd have to consider something like LogBookPro and the letter-sized printouts for the leather "loose-leaf" binders.
I'd be interested in a "consumer report" when you receive the logbook and start using it.

It looks like a top-quality product. What do you think about the dimensions? (roughly 8½" x 9")

You know, this is why I sometimes fear posting threads like this.. You find something of high quality that you think others may appreciate, and inevitably you get the Walmart bluelight shoppers that chime in about how something costs x times more. This same thing is happening with another guys thread on watches over at the other pilot forum.

Some people just don't appreciate true quality. Those are probably the same people that buy a $40 pair of tennis shoes every few months instead of buying a $180 pair of boots that will last at least a couple years. I think those are very nice and well worth the price. I looked last year for a log book and ended up with the standard Jep professional pilot log book. Personally I'm very disappointed with it. Like you said the binding is already separating, and what ****es me off the most is all the useless columns in it. Yeah they may be great for a student or instructor, but totally useless to a professional pilot. I do kinda like the green pages, but I think I can adjust. I'll also be looking for that review!
