After 16 years you get accustomed to the noise.
You can always go to "Shakers", and drown your sorrows.

I once had my company deadhead me on a Concorde from JFK to London to go get a 747 from LGW. They are sooooo small and had vintage avionics. It was very cool to have had that opportunity.

I think supersonic transport will be limited until you have passengers willing to pay more than $199 for a transcon roundtrip. Far too many Freddy Laker types out there willing to give away air transportation to justify the expense of supersonic travel. It's a neat idea but almost impossible to justify costs.

Concorde pilots must have taken home a nice check.

I don't think we will be restricted to conventional air travel much longer to be honest. It's been a few decades since we have seen any major innovation in the commercial air industry, they have to have something in the works in the near future. Perhaps we can skip supersonic air travel all together and go hypersonic.
