Default Teterboro Airport...

Does the airport have the capacity to handle larger jets? The issue has been debated very much the last 5 years or so in northeastern NJ.

What do you mean by "larger"? The neighbors already complain about the "smaller" jets in and out of there, so...
What's the point of the question?

Yes, what do you mean? What is larger? Is noise a factor? If you're asking if TEB can handle larger jets, I'd say no. The biggest runway is only 7000' and there is very limited parking space there. Can you get a 737 in there? Yes. Is a 737 larger? I don't know because I don't know what you mean by "larger". Big or small has nothing to do with loud or not loud. It's the engine type that does. Normally old is loud, but there are exceptions to every rule. I'd say overall that TEB is limited by ramp space more than anything else, but what do I know?

It seems like TEB has a weight limitation of 100,000 lbs. Boeing/GE wanted it dropped so the BBJ (737) could go to TEB. However, I think the limit still stands.

The ramps at the FBOs can get freaking crowded.

Sorry if I was a bit vague but I was talking about the 737. Thunderbolts and other military aircraft frequent the airport, why not 737s?

Default TEB restrictions

This gentleman is part of the reasons for the no-bbj and 100,000lbs. weight limit.

Here is a sample from the above link.

It's Official: No Big Jets At Teterboro; Rothman's Legislation to Uphold Aircraft Weight Limit at Teterboro Airport Becomes Law; Approved With Key Support From Senators Lautenberg & Corzine

That airport is an un-mititgaed nightmare.. if at all possible, have your operation avoid it. MMU is a better choice, heck JFK, EWR are better choices!

Thanks for the info. I find it a bit disappointing that there won't be any 737s whizzing only a few hundred feet from my roof. We get quite an airshow around here with pushers, biplanes, thunderbolts, and other military aircraft. During severe weather days we even get 747s from EWR flying about 2-3k ft. After 16 years you get accustomed to the noise.

I get heavy traffic into JFK directly over my house (1000 ft or less) . I hate it lol. It's really annoying trying to watch TV or talk on a phone when a 747 flies overhead.. Atleast the concord isn't around anymore, that was just torture. My entire house would vibrate when it flew overhead.

I have been under the flight path of a Concorde once or twice. The shear power that can be felt is amazing. I think we will see a return of supersonic transportation in the near future. Actually Japan is working on something of the sort right now.
