630 hours TT and he's making 141k? What's wrong with this picture? He should be in the right seat of a C152 making $18 an hour to teach kids how to fly. No big jets or big paychecks until you've got 8k hours in RJs and are willing to blow someone for a mainline interview.

Yeah because the American system is the way things should be. He should make $18k first year and then never upgrade, start at another airline making first year pay before he gets furloughed, joke around about becoming a truck driver (lol), become s truck driver, get recalled, go through a merger and lose what relative seniority and fly for another 25 years listening to Delta pilots complain about making $180k a year and telling him he needs to pay his dues.

To be fair, surviving the American system without losing your sanity eliminates the need for a psych eval imho.

I don't know - but what the equivalent spending power of that salary in Europe compared to the US dollar and cost of living - which varies widely in the US?

We see the reporting from the likes of Dick Quest and Anderson Cooper and are somehow surprised at the inaccuracy of their statements.

What we really need to understand is that EVERYTHING they report is bogus on all subjects, not just aviation.

I have a crazy idea: next time there is an accident or incident, let's all post absurd ideas about the cause and see which networks run with it. It could be fun... or completely informative. After all, it could have been a miniature black hole that entered the FO's brain.
