Friend in need
#1
Good day all. I would have searched the forums for this, but as the sticky says, "lurkers" have limited access. So, time to post.
I have a friend that I have been mentoring who was recently forced to resign as a 135 captain. He is obviously very distraught, and would like some help.
I have no experience with this, and don't know what to tell him. The reason for his forced departure has nothing to do with airplanes, (no violation/incident), but he doesn't know how to explain his sudden unemployment status to prospective employers.
If I've posted in the wrong forum, please let me know were I would receive better feedback. Any input is appreciated.

I've always thought that being fired is a death sentence, not that I want to tell him that. I don't know that quitting unexpectedly is any better. He has apps to the majors, and the like, but I don't think that is realistic anymore, with a blemish like this on his record. I was going to advise him to maybe consider regionals as they may overlook this in favor of his years of experience. He has over 5k PIC twin turbine.
I thought someone here might have some knowledge about this, as I'm clueless.

Sorry, but we (well, I) still need more details before I can even give you a cogent answer.
Getting fired is not a death sentence, and quittiing is not something shameful. It all depends on the individual circumstances. I see you only have 2 posts and cannot PM. Why don't you make a few more posts (not over in Regional unless you want to be emasculated by those lunatics over there) and then PM me if you want to keep the details confidential.
