Neat. Interesting how the bolt is all bouncing around right up until it nears the ramp and then it gets stable.

All part of the brilliance and genius behind the design. In regards to the "slop"/tolerance factor of the AK design, I like the way that magpul made light of/satire of it in this video. :51-1:05 is the comic gold;

They are cool and a great addition to any collection.

I haven't looked lately, but the pricing point on the guns themselves seem to trend higher than their -47 forefathers.

And naturally, ammo sourcing is more pricey and may become harder too. If it hasn't already. Primarily for it's "AP" aspects, etc.

Although the ammo seems to still be cheaper than 5.56 ammo.

7N6 (military surplus) ammunition was banned by the ATF last year, but there is a bill working its way through the US house that would repeal that ban.

AK-74's aren't really any more expensive than an AK-47 these days. Just depends on what you want to get out of it.

Yep, which was pretty much my point. And if it does work it's way back, I wouldn't expect it to be "cheap" anytime soon. But who knows?

7N1 for my PSL/Mosin PU is pricey enough so I just stick to the surplus light ball for "good enough" MOA.

Plus I can hand load some NORMA brass but that even that can get pricey.

Like I said, haven't priced them in a while. As my -47's were all acquired in the 80's.
