B-52 crash (video)

The sad part of that story is, the co-pilot on that flight was a squadron commander who thought the pilot (a wing senior officer) was dangerous. The Sq CC had complained about the pilot before but was unable to make any of his allegations stick. So, the sq cc forbid any of his pilots from flying with this guy and would only fly with him himself.
The accident happened at a rehearsal for an airshow. If you watch very closely, you can see the co-pilot initiate ejection just before ground impact.

Do any of us know someone like him? What would you do if you knew a pilot "friend" who acted similarly? We've all seen the videos of fighter aircraft flying too low and too fast, too close to other or obstacles. What do we do? We say, "Cool!"
I once had a chief pilot who had a heart to heart with one of our pilots. After an incident he told him that he should probably seek another way to make a living and let him resign without a good recommendation. Out of sight, out of mind, I guess. That pilot later went on to have another incident at another airline. I don't know where he is today. I've always told myself that if I ever run in to a truly dangerous pilot, I will find some way to stop him from killing himself and others. I still don't know how I would do it though.
"Aviation in itself is not inherently dangerous. But to an even greater degree than the sea, it is terribly unforgiving of any carelessness, incapacity, or neglect."
