Feather blades FTW.... FWIW I've packed a DE razor with spare blades for about 3 years before giving it much though. I've still not run into problems but to this point I'm just a regular retail airline customer, not KCM etc.

I used to bring mine with me every trip. Obviously you won't have a problem if you always go through KCM but when I went into Canada and to smaller ajrport with no KCM they almost always made me throw away my blades. I know they are cheap but throwing away perfectly good feather blades is just wrong!

It's not just an issue of them throwing away your stuff...if they wanted to, they could throw the book at you for smuggling unauthorized potential weapons through security. You'd lose your SIDA over that.

Why do they usually just confiscate and let you go on your way? Common Sense? Kindness? TSA Internal Policy? Probably best not to hang your career on any of those hooks

Hypothetically, I might try to take a large toothpaste tube through KCM, but never anything which actually has weapon potential.

I fly through places like Middle East and Hong Kong....places where they may be less "understanding" and less likely just take it and send you on your way. I have a 7Series Braun foil shaver, I'll probably just stick with that on the road. Battery last about a full month, at least.

Just got a Harry's razor. 5 blades, replacements about 2 bucks a piece. Nice shave, closer than the other multi-blades I've used. It is easier to cut yourself if the angle is off.

Yeah I found that lectric shave helps a little with the irritation and helps get a slightly closer shave. It's basically an astringent with some lubricating qualities. If you have a shave brush and good cream might try the Gillette guards. I've heard it's the closest you can get to a safety razor shave. I've also heard good things about bic metals too. Both single blade razors with a guard. I just like the convenience of the Braun.
