Default Luggage strap for flight case

I have a question that maybe someone else can answer who has had the same problem. I have a suitcase for my crew bag that is a rolling upright but not a purdy neat or travelpro, just a plain suitcase with a strap on the top to add another bag to which I use for my flightcase.

The strap on my luggage can carry my flight case, but the problem is that it is too short and the flight case sits too high on the luggage when it is attached. I have to lift the flight case up to strap it on instead of just being able to set it on the ground next to the luggage and then strap it up.

Has anyone else had this problem? I know, I could buy an expensive purdy neat crew bag and solve the problem, but I am a cheap FO and the suitcase is working just fine other than that. Anyone know of a place I can get a strap extension to make it longer? Or any other suggestions?

Thanks for the help!
