Default Trump and Boeing Air Force One

Hate it for Boeing but this is what is required: Control Gov't Costs!!

"Shares of Boeing slid about 1 percent in premarket trade Tuesday after President-elect Donald Trump said the cost of building a new Air Force One plane was too much.

On Tuesday, Trump threatened to cancel its order from Boeing of a new 747 Air Force One, which would be used for future presidents. He said the cost is more than $4 billion."

Trump is wrong about the price.

Trump *****es About Air Force One Upgrade He Won't Get to Enjoy, Lies About Costs

Actual cost is $1.65 Billion, spread over 4 years.

Lets put those numbers (either $4B or $1.65B) against the Federal Budget of $3.8 Trillion, and scale it down to a working class salary of $60,000.

On that scale, these planes cost either $63.00 or $26.00.

This is not an example of government waste or extravagant expense.

I'm loving the hysterics Trump induces in the snowflakes, causing them to reveal who they really are.

Take a call from Tiawan President Tsai Ing-wen?

They wet their collective pants and declare he's going against 40 years of US-Chinese diplomacy. Then Trump reminds them Obama did the same thing with Iran and Cuba. Oh yeah and btw, China doesn't get to dictate who the US President talks to and who he doesn't, the same as Trump will not dictate same to the Chinese "President".

Nominate Ben Carson as HUD Sec.?

They go berzerk, talking about how he has no experience. You mean like Obama, right? Thank goodness Carson isn't going to be the President and only the HUD Sec., eh??

Funny, funny stuff!!

WT#..
There's some typical logic.

Just because he will not get to enjoy it does not mean its not a good BUSINESS decision.

That's just the current R&D cost. The $4 billion is accurate.

According to a grudging NBC Trump is correct.

According to the latest figures, Trump is likely correct about the $4 billion price tag. Research and development is already at $2.7 billion for first two years, a number that is already budgeted and approved, and the Government Accountability Office warned last year that the cost would be approximately $3.2 billion. By the time the aircraft is delivered, the total cost will likely be over $4 billion, because the government still has to buy the two aircraft once they are built.

AF1 is part of the national command and control system. Most of the cost has to do with assuring to the greatest extent practical the safety of the CIC and his ability to exercise command and control of strategic systems...that is to say fusion bombs. In that light it's not really very expensive. It's not just a glorified bizjet.

I think most of us get that it is more than a bizjet. But 4 billion is still a lot of money. Regardless this probably is about more than AF 1.
