Honestly, and semi joking, but kinda sad all at the same time..

Wear some form of pride/Left leaning cause material. Be it a pin, a bracelet, then you're 100% in. Or put your real, or a fake, Phizer card on a lanyard around your neck.

My pink dress shirt did the trick for me.

Haha.

7 people that I personally know interviewed at Hawaiian last year. 5 got told no thanks.
While it's true that pilots have a lot of options and it is a very favorable market for us currently- interviewing at a legacy airline is not something you walk into thiking you deserve it.

I interviewed in May of last year and I did my absolute best to prepare. You do not need to hire a consulting company for Hawaiian interview. It's nothing technical. But you do need to sit down and think about very carefully (I mean really carefully) on what you are going to say.

The gouge on aviation interview is accurate, but do not simply regurgitate what's on there. The management panel interview is the most imporant part. Tell them why Hawaiian is best for you.

The guys commenting above are mostly just joking - but please do not wear / comment / joke on anything political on the interview (obviously).
Show them that you are a genuinely a good person and someone that is a pleasure to work with in the cockpit.

If you are chosen for the interview, Hawaiian is interested in hiring you. That's why they are flying you out to Hawaii and getting you a hotel in Waikiki.

Most important advice I can give you is to be humble. Trust me - they will sniff out arrogance & entitlement in the first 10 mins of the interview and I believe that has a significant impact on Hawaiian interview decisions. I see some people walking into interviews thinking they deserve it. This good market and multiple major airline interview calls are getting to their heads. But honestly... odds are - those of us hired last year and those of you who will be hired this year.... we are just lucky with timing. We severely lack airmanship and experience compared to new hires just 5 years ago. We should be thankful for the opportunity and be willing to learn from our more experience pilots. It's a fantastic pilot group.

Good luck!

Well said. May I hold you? Only because you asked.

Kidding aside, I and most of us hired more than 5 years ago appreciate this attitude.

Holly Hoover with Cage Marshall, she lives on Molokai and knows more about Hawaiian than most.

For any airline interview the $400 on prep is well worth it and this will set you up for success with others…you never know.

I agree. Not affiliated with either but Cage Marshall or Emerald Coast both do a good job getting you prepared and confident (not arrogant).

Thank you very much. Wish I had waited a little bit longer, as I recently bought the Emerald Coast interview prep. However, it already seems to be well worth it. Definitely glad I bought it.

Good advise!

We all know the real secret, at the job fair if someone asks you to stay at his house for the interview period, say yes.
