Merjer received final approval from DOT today and shouldnʻt take long to get Hawaiian Mgmt out. Operations/training to be done by Alaska team as will hiring with mainland basing. Pool is dead.

It is a vast rumor that the "interviews" didn't go well and AK wasn't exactly impressed with what we were doing in the offices.
I predict it'll be a semi sh!t$how as more people get let go over the next several months. Leaked emails, discussions, accusations, people throwing others under the bus to save their own hides.
We're going to be in for a hilarious ride as pilots. HR, scheduling, training are all gonna be a mess until AK completelytakes over.

all done with a snap of a finger? Everything changes tomorrow just like that! Yeah, that’s not how any of this works. It takes time to merge the two airlines. How hiring goes until we are under one certificate is anybody’s guess. No need to scare the guys in the pool with conjecture. Good luck with getting in touch with HR at the moment though. They might be a little busy.

The email announcing departures and who is staying on made complete sense. It also didn’t mention anything on the pilot pool front. Just cool your jets before making factual statements when you don’t have facts is all I’m saying.
