So I meet the minimum requirements to apply for an FO position at Hawaiian, which has always been one of my top choices for long term career positions. I do have several questions.
1. What equipment do FOs typically start out on (B717 is my assumption).
2. While I have a place on Oahu I currently live on the mainland for my current carrier, does Hawaiian allow commuting? Do they provide housing during training?
3. How long is the upgrade time from FO to CA and from B717 to A330 or A321
Lastly , I am aware that having connections at a major can be helpful in the process of getting hired….anyone looking for a new friend?
Thanks in advance to any answers provided

1. All aircraft have been available to new hires. 717 is trending towards being the junior aircraft, but I would also expect the Amazon freighters FO position to be going to mostly new hires.
2. we have a commuter clause in our contract and there are a fairly good amount of pilots that commute. Mostly west coast and Vegas commuters. Don’t do it if you get 717. The 330 freighters will be a mainland base.
3. last vacancy had 717 captains at 5 months on property. Expected to be street hire captains next spring. NEO was around 5years. 330 is 10-12 years. NEO and 330 will drop lower with the 330 freighter and 787 vacancy bids.
lastly, No, that’s not how that works.

All of these questions have previously been answered in other Hawaiian threads. I would think you would look over those before creating a new post if you were all that interested in Hawaiian as you say you are.

forgot to answer the housing question. Housing is not provided in Honolulu during training. Hotel is provided for training (sim) that is outside of Honolulu. That may change if you are assigned the 330F as HNL would not be your base.
