Not really any redeyes (for now); Lots of noonish starts followed by early AM west coast departures back the next morning.

717 will continue to have short upgrade times for the foreseeable future. Once the next few vacancy bids staff the remaining Amazon freighters and additional 787s, this could reverse course but hard to predict bidding behavior long term. If hired soon, within a year (5 months on paper) you can be checked out as a 717 captain or be a senior FO flying only day trips.
I see the short upgrades migrating to the 321. If any 717 upgrades, very little, a trickle compared to last year. plus when another award comes out, it will be beyond one year, so there's that.

On a separate but related (to the original post) as a junior 717 FO was able to get a line 2 months into bidding as a new FO, every day off I requested (no holidays) and a few additional, 14 total days off, only 3 overnights. Mix of early morning starts (which I prefer) and mid-day trips that end at night. Typically AM trips start 0500-0800 and ends 1200-1400 ish, and mid-day starts 1100-1400 ending at 1900-2200 ish. Average is probably 5.5 legs a day overall, short legs (40m-1hour block time per leg) and you are busy each leg (up and down) so time flies. Also a good plane for those who like to actually fly the plane, mostly visual approaches (~90%-ish) and you get a lot of practice with takeoffs, climbs, descents, and landings so some degree of proficiency in those areas comes quickly. Also, no deicing fluid needed, ever....
On edit-- that month was just over min credit of 75, but there were plenty of open time pickups available for those that desired.

I think 717 has short period time flight
So. I think that overtime duty will be difficult. Am I right.?
And then is it common to start and end at Hilo International Airport or Kahului Airport, or should the start and end airports always be HNL?
I wonder if there are some pilots who have a domicile other island, except HNL?
