Default Any change in cites?

Just wanted to stir the rumor pot again, I heard JFK was getting added to the mix. Any news on near-term additional airports/bases?

The latest news is that the freight pairings are barely going through CVG at all. Service is primarily SBD -JFK. So what was the point of a CVG base again? There is even short call reserve for long stretches in SBD. Why not a SBD base instead? Any future guesses?

Maybe becuase there is no way to get to SBD other than a ride on a freighter? I think Breeze is the only one with service there, few days a week from SFO and seasonally to PHX maybe? Be no way to get the home based pilots to work.

Only a guess.

I see American 5X daily DFW-CVG.
Unfortunately it's on a 737, but that's a different discussion...

Contractually they will airline you to ONT or LAX from your gateway city and limo you to SBD. You are paid for the flight and the limo. Many of the pairings have the first and last legs as deadheads from CVG, those are placeholders. A SBD base is definitely on the table, but I don’t see it happening with 10 aircraft due to economies of scale. However, there is an empty Hawaiian office in SBD. If you are on short call you get a hotel regardless of CVG or SBD, short call is going very senior as it is a hard credit money maker and ideal for those living in/near base. CVG will get a chief pilot in the fall.
