Default "Fun"@ Regionals, then "settle down"

Here's my plan. No matter what I plan on making it to the Regionals within the next year or 2. I think the idea of regional flying is awsome, for many reasons, not just the "hot F/A's" believe it or not....not saying that thats not a reason. But also like myself, I am going to have no debt, and money left over from college and will be in my early 20's, with hopefully no girlfriend. So why not fly for the regionals for a couple years and get a few 1000 hours....then go to corporate flying...since everyone says how much better corporate is. Mostly because your always home...but the pay isn't bad either. And hey who knows, maybe I'll somehow get in with UPS/Fedex...or Southwest/Jetblue. But in any case after being with a regional for a couple years would it be very hard to get in with corporate? (Compared to if I was to go into corporate right out of college?

Some corp's flying require you to be gone for several days.Flexjet, up to 6. The last regional I was on had a 50 year old MALE f/a. If that's your idea of fun, GO FOR IT!!

SC,

Sounds like you got it all figured out. Why not spend a few years flying the space shuttle while you are at it? Some of those nerdy space chicks are pretty hot.

No debt and money left over from college. You lucky bastard.

Just don't take that money and give it to some regional so you can fly their airplanes and play airline pilot.

Hey, Supercell

I think I remember you said you wanted to work for Colgan. Well when I interviewed there a few months back the flight attendents that were helping out were really cute. They also were either dating or engaged to Saab Captains. So I think you might have a chance.

Is the entire agenda behind you pursuing an airline career just for the women? I mean, really.

If that's your idea of the ideal lifestyle, by all means, carry on.

Default all figured out?

yea, so life is never going to be completely figured out... you get lucky some, but most of the time you are going paycheck to paycheck hoping to keep the pieces of your life together... here are the positives and negs that i see:
airline:
pos... good pay if they hold onto you long enough, big planes, decent lifestyle if you get to be a 15 year line holder.... neg: bitchy passengers sometimes, male F/A's, the front office people, job security

corp:
pos.. really sweet planes flying everywhere you want at the drop of your owners hat... good pay.. bring your golf clubs with you... no airline business to deal with.
negs: have you ever packed baggage before? the 2AM beeper calling you into work, 8 passengers that have more money than your entire career is worth
