Does Continental have a pilot referral system? Or are applicants judged solely on their resume data?

There is a computerized referral system in place. Continental pilots can give you a referral online after you submit your application.

I am a 2001 hire and I had 7 referrals. It seemed to help.

Good Luck!

Default 48 a month now

The latest word from ALPA is hiring 48 a month indefinately. Also, the company is internally solicitiing for more instructors for the 737/756/777, so thats got to be good news.

What kind of bases are the newhires going to besides the obvious, EWR?

Can one hold a bigger fleet-type like the 757 out of training?

Does anyone have an idea when CAL will be calling people in from the street for interviews?

does anyone think that having 20 LOR's will out-weigh not having a Bachelor degree versus an AS degree and prior employment?

thanks!!

Default New Hire info

Currently,

All new hires are going to EWR with about 2 a class going to GUM. Everybody currently is going on the 737, but... the last bid had 140 vacancies on the 757/767 in EWR. So its possible for some new hires going straing to it. (as a matter of fact the ewr 777 has two unfilled vacancies!). Good Luck

A lot of recent recalled pilots are going straight to the 756 and there are openings for new 777 F/O's. CAL is starting a major international expansion to get away from the continual "bar lowering" of airfares in the domestic system. It seems to be working since our flights to the new destinations are going overseas pretty full. I do know off the street pilots are currently being interviewed. Good luck to everyone. CAL really is a great place to work. ewrbasedpilot
