You might try Dyncorp. They do lots of King Air work for the government.

Do most of these outfits want ex-mil folks or can us civi slugs get picked up by them.

I heard at one point that Dyncorp was flying turbine thrushes in columbia spraying "crops" I don't now if they are still in that game or not. I would guess that the risk factor is a bit elevated for that job. Sounds kinda cool though, in a sick sort of way.

I saw an flying IA billet about 45-60 days ago from a unit in Iraq flying Super King Airs -- looking for a year boots on ground. The unit is a joint (Navy/AF) deal training the Iraqi AF pilots. Its basically a RAG/FRS/RTU (depending what mil language you speak) instructor job. I think I deleted the email, but will try to see what I can find. Kind of interesting. One way to get some "green ink" in your logbook in a King Air...

Most of these jobs want prior military with a current secret or better clearance. Gray Aviation only hires people with personal recs from someone already working there.

I know of a Lockheed Martin subsidiary that does some work in modified King Airs, and i asked what the possibility to fly for them if not military trained. They had 13 pilots, 11 were prior military aviators, one was prior military enlisted with civilian flight rating, and the last one was straightup civilian but had gobs of ours and a TR on 747. Some of these contractor companies are pretty hard to get into without a military backgound, but not impossible.

I'm currently an enlisted crew chief (A-10) with a job as a regional airline pilot sitting right seat....if that helps?

I've got a good friend over there flying KA-90s (U-21 to be exact) for Dynamic Aviation. I think it's a 90 on 90 off rotation. He was not prior military, and had only a few hundred KA hours when they hired him. They take care of all the background/security checks once you are in.

I don't have enough posts to PM or I'd give you his e-mail address. Guess I better get busy posting...

Cheers
