I took the test 10/26 in SLC. I had no idea of how I did till I got my score. I wasn't very confident. Kind of felt like I dropped the ball in a few places. But somehow I managed a 100. I think I must have done really well on the more heavily weighted sections. From what I hear actual hiring is one to two years out anyway. Good luck to all.

Got my score back, got a 100 also. Not bad for doing it in 3.5 hrs.

ATC is hiring, and they have a link up now where you don't have to be coming out of a 4 year atc degree program

Linky

Approximately 75% of the folks at AUS are right off the street. A few have some type of aviation degree, but very little of that is usable at work. One or two of the kids have prior military experience, but I have the impression that they were the lone Controller in the Tower waiting for the cargo supplies to arrive with the weekly delivery. Most of these kids have NEVER had a job.

The FAA hires 'em... sends 'em to OKC for some schoolin'... then ships 'em back to the facility for us to train 'em. Training time through AUS Tower and TRACON has been averaging 2 - 3 years.

Ya you should have read a bit more, it talks about PUBNAT8, and how thats open to the public, and how we all applied and took the ATSAT and are waiting on GEOPREF emails and the board to meet, but nothings moving.
