Meals and any other expenses besides the hotel are up to you. Accept all that and make it through the training and you will end up with the opportunity to work under an expensive contract for 15 months that isn't even pro-rated if you leave early (this is based on people I know who left before the contract was up and had to pay the whole thing back). But don't worry, the pay and work rules are sooooo worth it!

As for commuting costs, it's all basically free once you're an employee in CASS and a lot of people commute. I did it for a long time and still kind of do but if you can swing it, I recommend living in base. It really makes a world of difference.

I've also got an interview coming up here soon with Lakes. What is considered the date of employement? When they put you in class, or when you first start flying?

Where can a new hire expect to be based? How long to hold DEN if not right away?

make an audio cd of all memory items and limitations that you can listen to while you drive instead of talking on the phone

To give everyone a heads up if you are thinking of coming here...

The DOT just made it official yesterday that Gulfstream will take over all of our Montana cities (we go to 8) effective May 1, 2011...A lot of people think it wont effect us since it will be unlikely for Gulfstream to make it up to BIL by then...but regardless of timing we are losing it.

Also Eagle just won the bid for EAS to go to Grand Island, NE (GRI) effective same date...So 9 cities total we are losing in the next 6 months

Some pilots think this won't really effect us but I don't see how that can be using logic....This company can and will make a decision so quickly that you cant even have time to say what??? It happened to me back in 2009 getting let go out of training because we lost a bunch of STL cities and not enough airplanes so history probably will repeat itself.

I hope everyone the best but just do your research and know that it is a possibly again...
