Just outta curiousity .... after an upgrade at Great Lakes, do y'all know of anybody who has gone to a Major? Corporate? What's the norm when it comes to the ones who have upgraded and gotten th 1000+ PIC time needed? I've always wondered about where the Great Lakers move on to.

Pretty much everyone that upgrades and puts the time in at Lakes goes to a major, fractional or corporate. At least when they were hiring, that is. I know guys that have gone straight to FedEx, American, United, Airtran, Delta, Frontier, Southwest, you name it. Great Lakes is not a stepping stone to another regional. It has traditionally been the fastest way to the aforementioned places. I am one of those people that moved on to the place I would love to stay for a long time. Hope that answers your question.

A question for Great Lakes pilots.
A blurb from the history tab on the homepage states:
but the Route Map at the link below does not show any service to OK.

Does Great Lakes in fact provide service to Enid and Ponca City, OK or not?

In March, Great Lakes began providing service to Sierra Vista, AZ along with Enid and Ponca City, OK and Pueblo, CO. Great Lakes will continue its expansion to include three more cities in New Mexico; Clovis, Silver City and Albuquerque; as well as Show Low, Kingman and Prescott, Arizona.

We did fly Enid and Ponca, but when those EAS contracts expired we just didn't renew them. I believe the DOT actually was in the process of scrubbing them when we got the contract. We do service to ABQ from Clovis and Silver City however, as well as Prescott, and Kingman.

I did an airshow into Kingman, AZ one time (back in '08).
I didn't have a good experience there so it sticks in my mind

Thanks for that information ovrtake92 and minimwage4, good point. So, with that said, I guess it's really not that bad to suck it up for 2 - 3 years if you can get on to a Major or a sweet Corporate gig. I'd rather go to Lakes and be insanely poor for 3 years than go to another regional with better pay and be stuck for at least 5. I guess it's all about looking more toward where a temporarily bad situation can take one rather than focusing on how bad it currently is .... I'd definitely go to Lakes in a heartbeat if it gets me a better seat, quicker. Yes, I know I'm a horrible person for that.
Thanks again for the confirmation on where one can go after Lakes.
