That may be back on the shelf. We are spending tons of $$$ on training due to re-basing. Moving 320's & 330's in addition to parking the DC9's will make it waaaay more.

I am very interested in flying for Delta. I have applied & attend job fairs to get my name & face present.
I have 11,800hrs TT 9,900hrs is multi-eng & jet.
I have two Part 121 failures. A jet transition simulator check ride failure & a PC failure. I retrained and passed immediately. On top of that, I allso have one line-check failure.
Is that disqualifying for a job with Delta?

No...when I was hired, I had applicants with me that had checkride failures and even a DUI. They were hired. DAL is hiring future CA's and is mostly focused on the stuff beyond flying the aircraft. The biggest thing you need is an internal recommendation, somebody who can get your app "on top of the stack." Good luck!

Delta even asked me about the "D" I got in freshman English at Tech. I re took the class and got an "A." But still, they wanted to know about a poor grade I had gotten almost two decades earlier.
If you want to work for Delta, I'd say sure, apply and good luck. We all had things we had to explain in an interview. No one is perfect. With the stagnation in our profession we are going to have applicants with a lot of experience. Some of those experiences are going to be the learning kind.

Sorry that I have to disagree with a co worker, but the Delta I interviewed with would have had none of the "lifestyle choice" issues like a DUI. A DUI is the result of several decisions, none of them good, or responsible. (and I enjoy a beer as much as anyone, maybe more)

In any case, if you don't apply, you'll never know.

FWIW, I have a friend who was hired by DL in the 1999-2000 time frame with a DUI and other charges related to it. Yet he was still hired because it was only ONE, and he could show where it was a stunning lack of judgment, but it was also an aberration. As long as it's not a recurring theme, and you can demonstrate you learned something from it, they will overlook it.
As was explained by the Director of Flt Ops at the time, "Everyone is entitled to one screw up."
