Default Pinnacle hiring...

Hi folks,

So, I don't know anything about regional airlines or what's currently going on. I'm a corporate pilot out of work and need a job. Pinnacle is advertising on BizJetJobs.com for first officer positions. I'm gathering info on the company and sector of the industry now but curious as to this communities opinions and info on the subject.

Thanks,

PT

Default don't do it

If I could, in all seriousness, make one recommendation, DON'T GO TO PINNACLE!!!! If you are desperate and have no other options go to Mcdonalds. You will be treated like a child and feel forever less than human. There are so many options outside of that disaster. I wouldn't suggest my worst enemy go there. Best of luck in your decisions.

I will not stoop on down to throwing around the banter but pinnacle is hiring. That being said the hiring currently is out of the "pool" of Mesaba furloughs. Once everyone has been offered and accepted/bypassed that list outside hiring is a strong possibility of continued hiring (I won't go as guaranteeing something I have no say in). Currentry posted mins are 1000/200. Keep in mind there is also a 5 year contract negotiation, 3 pilot groups being turned into 2, and a process that hasn't been established and agreed to in terms of an end product. Your choice to try to come to pinnacle or NOT is your decision but I would spend some time researching it all before just going full bore over an ad. Just my .02

Not that I think it's a bad thing but why is Pinnacle helping out the Mesaba guys? There are plenty of other airlines out there with tons of guys on furlough. I'm having trouble following the industry BS these days so I can't remember if there's a reason Pinnacle would owe this to the Mesaba guys so can somebody clue me in here? Thanks.

I agree, look into every airline and talk to people, don't just jump into something you may regret. I don't work for Pinnacle so I can't say what it's like to work there. A few other airlines MAY be hiring in the near future. Just what I've been hearing so take it for what it's worth (Skywest, ASA are a few I heard). Maybe if you wait a little bit something better will come along. I don't know what experience you have, but Delta, Air Tran, and Eagle are also hiring are the ones I can name off the top of my head. If you have the experience I would put in for somewhere other than a regional first. Just my 2.

If you see an ad for a job, there's almost always a catch.

Hint: The good jobs do not need to advertise themselves to get applicants.
