Default Alaska future hiring?

Any Alaska pilots hear about future hiring? I heard a rumor of fall this year. It won't do me any good since I lost my medical, but it's nice to keep tabs on my favorite airline.

Letters have gone out to the furloughed pilots that set a training schedule. I believe they start after the summer rush in Aug until the end of the year. All furloughs will be back by the end of the year. Rumor mill says that AS will be interviewing this fall to fill spring classes.

Green Banana has it right. Interviews this fall for classes in Spring 2012. Heard it straight from the horses mouth at FO charm school.

That day can't come soon enough when all our furloughed brothers & sisters are back on the property AND we get some new-hires on board.

Hire until you furlough, furlough until you hire.

I feel for all the Bros at Alaska, you deserve better. A completely unnecessary furlough that probably would have paid for itself in cancelled flights (for crews) alone.

Hang tough, hope those on the street win the lotto and move in down the street from Bill Gates.

All future Alaska hiring will be done by the Delta New Hire division...

Will there be a bid before the recalls in August? We sure need gals/guys in SEA.

Three small bids starting in May with the other two to follow in June and July. Rumor has it that SEA & PDX will grow, while ANC shrinks. I'm not sure what they're going to to do LAX, but I suspect it will stay about the same size. Like Green Banana mentioned, they're going to run recall classes starting in August with a class of 10 and then 6/month after that until all the furloughed guys and gals are back.

Darth Hage said may/June bid effective either sept or November. Shrinking ANC and possibly lax a little. Up to 50 upgrades. Most to sea and pdx.

But they also said they were adequately staffed too. ;P. This summer will certainly be fun.

"Darth Hage" - I like it. He and Darth Johnson have really done a number on the so-called staffing model. Instead of JW & TB putting out monthly ARC reports, they should just admit that it's a LARC (Lacking Adequate Reserve Coverage) report. I know TK & GB have kinda sorta admitted to being short pilots, but it has come with a lot of excuses too. "We had to make decisions based on what we knew at the time." Oh well, they were warned way back when the bean-counters got greedy and decided to cut staffing to the bone.
