Default FAA Flight Test Pilot in Atlantic City

Does anyone have any information on this job that posted a while back? I applied and painted a picture based on the job description but looking for more details... QOL, mission, aircraft they fly, engineering background required, travel requirements, duties besides flying?

What, you had to paint a picture??? Those gubrmint applications are getting ridicerous. I keed, I keed.

There's a plethora of info on APC regarding this job (the search function should turn over a few stones for you). Also, check USMCFLYR's posts. He has provided info regarding this job recently. From what I understand, it's a decent job as long as you don't mind be away from home.

There's a little info here, too:
Flight Inspection Operations Group

Cleco and I have talked about the ASIP jobs before. The job he mentions in the original post is not a Flight Inspection job, but rather something along the lines of testing. I think that there are a few that I have met here in OKC. They seem to be involved in the testing of the ProLine21 King Airs and the Challengers when they mod them out for the mission essential equipment for example. They also fly the aircraft when the experimental equipment is being tested in back as fr as I can tell.

Cleco - if I run across them here in the near future I'll ask them about the expected qualifications for such a job. I know that one friend of mine applied for such a position but didn't seem to get very far without some background in the test world.

Thanks RB for the humor...and USMCFLYR for the info...I was indeed asking about Flight Test, not flight check. I appreciate any info you have to pass along USMCFLYR if you run across any of these folks. Makes sense the type of testing you refer to, I have a feeling there is a much wider scope...just looking for details if anyone cares to share.

I'll try and talk to my sim partner who is out of ACY. They share the hangar with those Flight Test folks.
