Default Go Jet class Oct 10, 2011

Hey all. Just got the email for a Oct 10th class with Go Jet. I have completed the CRJ class at ATP with the CRJ 200. I'm wondering how different the 700 is from the 200?

Same thing. 700 is nicer, better powered, cooler during summer and tricky to land.

There is nothing tricky at all, I often had better and easier landings in the 700 and 900 than in the 200.

Here are some pay comparisons to help your decision:
second year FO pay on similar equipment
GO JET - 31
ASA - 39
Pinnacle 36 (increase on jan 1)
Skywest 37
Compass (under the same holding corp as gojet) 35

3rd year Captain
Go Jet - 63
ASA - 65
Skywest 67
Pinnacle 67
Compass - 67

But hey, the upgrade will be quick right and you will get to delta quicker right!

FADEC best thing since sliced bread
engines are synched
Gens are automatic
Bleeds are automatic
xbleed start is a cinch
one fire test button
cabin temp is better designed
map light over head
better performance easy cruise .83
nose wheel door stays open on the ground nice for preflight
APU exhaust is way above your head.
Wings are higher on the ground nice for preflight
lands like a jet
at GJ we have ACARS which you will learn to love!
dual FMS in all GJ planes
dual radar heads you can have different ranges selected
first class section
forward baggage compartment
slats
a little lower vref
not as much of a CG problem as the 200
nav lights have a redundant nav light only one on at a time
hydraulic operated thrust reversers
more powerful electrical system
two flight attendants which can be good or bad

So, all comparably low. These never ending contests always remind of the old Star Trek episodes where the aliens (metaphor for regional jet pilots) were two separate groups (metaphor for any two regional airlines).

One group had faces with white on the right, and black on the left, as opposed to the arch enemies, the black/white aliens.

Of course, most regional flying is done for pretty low pay. None o the pay rates posted above would influence my decision of one carrier over another, but I also that most people in that market will.

More important to me would be the bases, equipment, culture at the company, etc., because the pay and work rules are not substantially different.

This thread will no doubt continue to be a place for adolescents to spew their immature vermin, therefore I'll lock it up now, and save me the trouble later.
