Default American Eagle Desparate for Pilots

American Eagle has informed employees to refer their friends for pilot positions. American Eagle is currently short staffed and are expecting to have 450 captain positions open up to do American Airline pilots returning to AA. AMR corporation has anounced that American Airlines will begin recalling furloughed pilots as of Jan 2007. For those of you who are interested you can apply at www.aa.com by clicking American Eagle careers link. Good luck.

Of coarse they're desparate! They're pay is horrible! I saw an ad in the Detroit News for jobs there the other day.

I have a family member working at Eagle Rt seat in a ERJ for 8 years now and he still makes around 32,000 a year. Eagle is the pits.

Well I made more than that last year without picking up overtime and I am on 3rd year pay. So either your relative is lying or he didn't work that hard. In my opinion American eagle is a great place to work. Our work rules are good, and pay is consistent with our competitors. The only thing that has been a drag is the time to upgrade. There will come a day and hopefully it is soon where Eagle will have a mass exodus of flowback pilots returning to AA. This happened at Express Jet and there were rapid upgrades. We expect the same and it will come evetually. So until then I will ride out the storm and encourage people to come work for us.

Eagle is a good place to work, and it looks good on a resume. It is a stable job.

If he's been here 8 years then he's in the right seat by choice. Probably can't hold the left seat in some domiciles/equipment still though, so maybe that's why. And he'd be at $38/hr (assuming he's in a jet) so he definitely should be making more than $32K.

Actually he was pretty accurate according to APC. Eight year FO is earning 33.6K on a jet! I agree it does look good on the resume; definitely a young mans job though, unless the wife is doing better that $33K after eight years.

That's pathetic! Why does anybody fly for the regionals with pay scales like that.
