I hear even Cape is getting apps with people with a couple of thousand hours and 121 time. It's better to start at 35K then 21K at another regional.
It's a crappy market right now. Unless you want to work at Republic. |
Ameriflight! I hear they are hiring quite a lot right now and you're able to get PDX. I have a couple friends that just got picked up there with only instructing experience and not a lot of ME time.

Piedmont will hire you and they have no training contract. Its not the best place, but its a good place to build experience.

go to a regional with an expired flow program like compass. You yourself wont flow, but there will be movement. You can get multi turbine 121 time for a year and go to a mid level like NKS or something after that.

take a look a cape air. great way to build multi time in a CE402 and I believe their multi mins are only 25 hours
|
So I've got 1500 TT, but only 20 multi. Will be taking the ATP written soon. Looking for advice. Will anybody touch me with only 20 hrs multi? I heard, but haven't confirmed, that PSA has no multi mins, can anyone confirm? Buying another 30-80 hours of twin time isn't really feasible. Silver airways out of FLL, they seem to hire peeps with a pulse. They just want ATP mins. I think they're hiring into the Saab again. Not as bad as great mistakes pay wise, but then again not as good other regionals, kinda in the middle. |
Because of the new laws, ATP minimums now include 50 multi. So whether or not airlines list this, it's a minimum.

Also have an interview with Piedmont coming up soon. |
Actually I think if you can afford it, you're not in too bad of shape if you can get on with one of the regionals. With the forecasted retirements, there should be a lot of movement in the next decade. Spend a couple years building your time at the regionals/cargo/or whoever will hire...and you should be in the running in a few years for the majors. Key thing after you start building your ME time is to get some turbine PIC.....so upgrade as soon as you can....
or Check out the guard/reserves.....most units send 1-2 dudes to pilot training a year.....though, the process will probably take 2-4 yrs to get in a position to get a civilian gig, but it's worth checking out and you'll get great time for the logbook....usually there's C-130/KC-135 units looking.....check out baseops.net jobs page.... |
Congrats. Wouldn't wait too much longer, seniority is everything. Piedmont is a good place.
