1500 TT, 20 ME. Advice?
 

So I've got 1500 TT, but only 20 multi. Will be taking the ATP written soon. Looking for advice. Will anybody touch me with only 20 hrs multi? I heard, but haven't confirmed, that PSA has no multi mins, can anyone confirm? Buying another 30-80 hours of twin time isn't really feasible.

At you level....get a job... any job......get some experience so you can get another , better job and so on. Start applying to everybody you have a REALISTIC chance with.....if you get an offer and you can swing it...go. if you get multiple offers ...chose and go. the pay will suck but it would be crazy to spend thousands getting the ME time you THINK you need. Even if you go to some place like Great Lakes ....big deal... get in.. get trained... get 500 hours and move on.. (disclaimer...hoping you are single, no kids,,, and can move around freely)

What Herc said. Do not get yourself in a situation that you can not bolt from in a moments notice, your loyalty is to you. Period. Apply everywhere, fly anything that someone will let you touch and most importantly, get the mental attitude that falure is not an option.

Also I think (but am not certain) that the new 121 SIC rules require a certain amount of ME time along with the ATP. I think it's 50-100. You should probably research that.

I hate to have to say this, but what you need is some multi time (as you already know). It won't help you in any way, but somehow, the HR folks think it's necessary before you get hired.

The good news is that you don't need 80. Somebody mentioned PSA. Also look at XJT and AE (are you a gambling man?). Those companies will take you with 50ME.

Agreed, the rule is that you will need 50 hours twin time. I am in the same situation here too. Almost 1100 TT but only at 15 hours of multi. I am in the process of building twin time, I am paying for it, but it has to be done. I am fairly confident that we will have a good chance with 50 hours of ME. Good luck!! Also yes, definitely apply away, it cannot hurt.

Try Ameriflight or similar companies... 135 cargo type outfits. Not only will you be building multi time, but also a little PIC. Stay long enough and you will get TPIC. Or like mentioned before, stay a year, get 500 hours and bail.

Agreed. HR says it right out of the phone interview. If you want to bail in 6-12 months, that is alright. If you enjoy it there, then stay. They know their current role and are being realistic with people. Very good company in my opinion. They will take you with low ME time.
