There are several people leaving Omni to go to Atlas and that includes Captains going to start over again as FO's. I would be very skeptical about going to Omni. The contract is horrible and the Teamsters told us it was the best we would get and that we needed to take. The management style is to kick you until you are down then kick you harder.

I took the quicktake and explained it for those of you thinking about jumping ship to Omni. The company interprets the contract however they want, the pilots do not care enough to fight them and the teamsters get their monthly dues so they do not care either.

120 possible gateway cities for company provided travel: The company can/will/does delete airports it determines are not suitable. There are no set guidelines for this determination. It is very difficult to add an airport to this list.
Full pay begins with completion of PC/type rating or 8 weeks training: Until then you get $500 a week to live off.
All pilots are type rated at company expense: This is true, but I'm also pretty sure that all airlines have to train you.
Duty time begins 1 hour prior to departure and van times vary depending on location:This means that when the company arranges transportation you have to go with the FA's, who's duty time begins 1:45 prior, or the flight crews can pay for it themselves.
Pay protection when displaced for training or management pilots: The pilots are not given access in AIMS to see who is doing what so there is no way of knowing if you are actually displaced, unless you do the VH stuff out of LAS.
Flying will not be removed from pilots' schedules to prevent from breaking guarantee: It will not be removed, but it also will not be added. You will just sit long call reserve in Shannon or Bishkek.
May only have schedule extended involuntarily 4 days in a 2-month period: They can extend you 4 days every two months, but not to exceed 2 times in a 3 month period. If they extend you during transition then they can get your for 6 days instead of 4.
22-hour duty day including DH travel and then gateway travel is added on top of that: The company does not see this as a dangerous practice. We can be on duty, gateway travel and then have to drive home and there is not limit on the amount of time for this. Expect around 28+ hours total.
Gateway travel does not count as duty and is unpaid: Also, no per diem and they do not have to book direct flights either.
First year pay does not start until PC is complete, until then it's a company determined amount: See above
No trip or duty rigs: Most people do not break guarantee and if you get close you get to start sitting around wherever they decide to leave you.

What are those VH trips out of LAS like schedule wise? What are FO's sitting on the list that can hold this line?

Thanks ROP. Omni's quicktake (after reading all of them in the past couple weeks) is the only one that reads like you are getting screwed at the drive-thru from day 1.

VH trips have started going somewhat junior because the company stopped making them commutable for the pilots. You work a 3 or 4 day trip, have one day off then work another. You end up wasting your days off sitting in LAS. Omni has yet to realize that keeping employees somewhat happy or at least thinking the company isn't out to constantly screw them will slow down the attrition.

It's more like 3 days off. You commute on two of those days just to have one day off at home at a time or pay for a hotel for two nights in Vegas out of your own pocket. So your 18 day month just became a 26 day month with no extra pay to show for it. Even the people that live there don't like it from what I have been told since it takes up their entire month every month. If you get based in LAS you are stuck out there for at least 6 months at a time until they are able to find someone else to volunteer for it or JA some new people there.
