I just recently applied to Republic, although it was my 3rd choice as far as regionals go... It gets me the closest to home... If you don't mind me asking, how many hour did you get hired with to get into the 170. Also, Skywest is getting them too, but I have heard they are not hiring straight into them at first. Just what I heard...

Yeah, I think that is a big factor.

I don't blame people for trying to advance themselves and their careers, please don't misunderstand. I believe most RAH pilots on here say similar things to prospective RAH pilots-like think twice about coming to RAH, but if you do, you won't get snubbed by the pilot group.

So far, despite all the attempts to thwart newcomers to RAH, I personally have not observed a lack in interest to go there. When the 175 order first came out, I thought RAH would not even come close to staffing those, let alone the rest of the operation. Much to my surprise, I think my initial judgment will prove to be incorrect.

With that said, I really wouldn't mind if the regionals do have a hard time staffing, and particularly the more deadbeat ones. The pressure to improve is a good thing.

Finally, I'd like to see all my fellow pilots treated better....shoot every employee at a regional for that matter.

Got a conditional offer from Eagle a few months back, and just got the offer from RAH as well. Need 75tt to meet restricted minimums. Any idea if rumors are true that Q hiring is done? Not too good to fly the Q, just more concerned with bases. Also would everyone here agree RAH is the better choice than Eagle given present conditions and future fleet plans?

According to my old roommate (Shuttle/Republic), yes, it would be a better choice. Good luck in your decision... All regionals blow...

Any recommendation on cert/bases if given a choice? My only absolute is to avoid EWR
