Does this affect the amount of time you can be on duty with the new 117? Just curious , it sounds like an awesome gig.

Atlas is only going to comply with 117 for passenger ops. They try to position you to the start of your trip 8-12 hours prior to your flight to get rest. Nothing in the contract to say you need to though so that's a whole different thread. They do get you a hotel to rest if you come early. See the atlas hiring thread for more details to keep this one on track with junior bases.

We still commute the day prior albeit w/ a paid tkt. Most junior base is anc then cvg.

SWA is (in order of "juniority")- OAK, PHX, LAS, and HOU should be attainable for a new hire by the end of 2014. After that, I'm not sure but I think it's MCO, MDW, DEN, BWI, DAL, ATL. They are all too senior for me to even worry about.

Thanks for the replies all. I have not "thrown anchor" yet and my goal is to end up in the DC area or in Florida...just trying to see what's out there. Thanks again.

Unless you want a line. LAS is nearly a year for a relief line, and relief lines in LAS consist primarily of reserve. Expect a relief line in DTW first month on line with actual flying on it. Of course, things do change very rapidly here!

How about junior bases for the regionals? I'm pretty sure Horizon's is ANC from what the recruiter was saying at the Aero Crew job fair.

Probably not for quite a while. Always subject to change of course.

How is the quality of life with Atlas, such as how long away from home at a time realistically are you gone each month?
