Only denied a JS once (when CLP was playing tankering games). Haven't run into it since. I'll just continue to list as W5 and if I run into the problem again, I'll e-mail the union.
I’ve heard of that happening but I’ve always listed as commuter and never had issues getting a jumpseat. I’ve heard this issue is mainly due to (new) gate agents not knowing how to make a new listing.

Twice in the last two weeks have been denied the jumpseat on the Q400. Flight restricted to 74 total pax. Both cockpit and fa jumpseats were part of the 74 total. Both times there was a QX fa jumpseater denied as well. Some kind of new normal?

Q400 is becoming as reliable as the CRJ200 for counting on the actual jumpseat…Best not to count on it

Since they updated the average pax and bag weights this has been an issue. Lots of weight restricted Q flights. If you are a QX pilot, anytime this happens (you getting denied the JS because of weight) please email the union jumpseat email and our CP (EB). Both are tracking the issues and the more reports/emails they get, the better.

Not a QX pilot but I do email our ALPA jumpseat committee and they are tracking it as well.

I fear we are going to lose jumpseat privileges on other airlines if we can’t reliably provide the jump to other pilots. Not to worry, our union will grieve it and resolve it by 2040.

110% agree with fly guy it’s getting bad CLP isn’t playing ball when trying to move fuel around get jumpseaters on. Last 2 weeks had 2 people not get on cause CLP told the gate no.
