Any Horizon pilots able to answer a few questiosn?

I find it wierd that they are shrinking that much. Getting rid of all the jets and only a few more Q400's. Do they plan to do the longer flights on the Q400 or just get rid of them? I also heard a rumor of a LAX base sometime in the future...

LOL

The Lax rumor started in early 05. Don't count on it.

I don't work for Horizon, but I suspect some of the RJ routes will be flown by Alaska, and others will disappear. Certainly there are some RJ routes that can be served more profitably on the Q400.

The 2 RJ's that went away were leased and will be back on the property in 2 years while South African Airways, waits to receive their CRJ900s. One is gone and i think the next one leaves soon if has not alrerady left. The new Q400 434MK was in the hanger the other night, just got to PDX. Boy is it shiny? It already had write ups. I say byebye on Jan 6th also. Good luck McDonalds is hiring managers in Tacoma.
If you need info on your paper let me know and I can also shine some light your way.

Is is true that the University of Washington CRJ is one of the two shipped off to South Africa? I guess the shame of being associated with the Huskies football team was too much for Horizon to stand.

It is the second airplane going to South Africa, it's in the hangar now being painted over. Rumor is that they will paint a Q400 with the UW scheme.
