As you can see the above was my original comment and the comment that started the topic, I was just trying to be funny on my reply. Now in regard to the rest of your grievance I find appalling that you can judge people out of a single line
in a forum and call out my "poor attitude" really ??. I've flown (ride along should I say) with great pilots and some no so great but believe me I always wear my big boy pants and point out what I don't agreed with. Now if you can't deal with people views or comments without judging attitudes or sending me some other place as you just did well thats your problem. Glad that you are proud of you company but at no time expect everyone that agrees to everything you think or said. Best of Luck!!

As I stated in the first line of my post, it was not my intent to call you out specifically. The post was intended to be more of a blanket response to the general attitude that I have seen from a number of folks, which seemed to be somewhat reflected in your post. It also just happened to be the most recent example that I had encountered, hence the reason I quoted it.

I just find it rather comical that anyone would base their decision of a prospective employer upon the age or perceived political leanings of a company's pilot group. I'm not entirely sure what you meant with the last bit of your post, so I'll just leave that alone.

Again, I understand that I quoted you out of context and I apologize if my post came across as a personal attack on you. The specific bit that I quoted just seemed to sum up a number of comments that I have seen that I wished to address.

First jet flight happened today:

"Mark down May 4, 2017, as one of the most important days in the history of Horizon Air.

With the on-time departure of flight 2790 at 8 a.m. this morning, Horizon re-launched revenue jet service, marking the culmination of more than 18 months of hard work across our entire company.

“As we celebrate this major milestone in Horizon’s history, I just want you to know that I am so proud of each and every one of you,” wrote Dave Campbell, president and CEO, in his Dave’s Check-in message earlier today.

The flight from Portland to St. Louis, operated on one of our brand-new Embraer E175 jets, departed at the exact scheduled time, carrying 70 passengers (including a full load of 12 in our first class cabin!). Captains *** and *** were at the controls of the jet, and flight attendants *** and *** were in the cabin, providing the exceptional service for which Horizon is known. (See gallery below for photos from the inaugural.)

***, who has been flying for Horizon since 1986, was thrilled to find out he’d be helming the inaugural flight.

“Captain *** and myself were asked to carry the mantle for all of the employees of Horizon on this historic day, and we were honored and humbled to do so,” *** says. “I am so very excited for this new chapter for Horizon. We have chosen an aircraft that we already know is reliable and a favorite with passengers, and provides us with the means to see an unprecedented level of growth such as we have never seen in our history! Without a doubt, these are the most exciting times and opportunities that I have witnessed in my 30 years at Horizon.”

Interestingly, the flight took place almost exactly six years after Horizon’s last scheduled jet service – a CRJ-700 flight from Seattle to Fresno on May 13, 2011. That final CRJ-700 flight marked the end of a fleet transition that began in April 2007, when we announced plans to phase out our 37-seat Q200 turboprops. (A year later, we announced the decision to similarly phase out our CRJ-700 jets in order to attain an all-Q400 fleet.)

Of course, there’s still plenty more work to be done. We have two other E175s in our possession that are getting prepped for revenue service. We’ll add two more jets to our fleet by mid-May, giving us five as we further expand our E175 service with more routes on May 18. We’re scheduled to have 13 E175s in our fleet by the end of the year, with 20 more on order for delivery in 2018 and 2019."

That is dang near across the country now on a regional jet. Same thing the 73 does.

I think I read the vote on this new TA started May 3rd. When does the voting end? How soon after will the results be known? Any indications which direction it is going?

Thanks in advance!

The voting ends on the 23rd, results will be immediate. It will most likely pass.

Another follow up, sorry for all the questions.

Are you able to share what the scales look like in the new TA? I've read that the starting FO's are $40 but that is it on scales. Any additional information here would be super appreciated!

Thank you!

If passed, it would change the entire FO pay scale. There is no B-scale.

To avoid confusion in the future, it's probably best to wait to post it if it passes.

To give you an idea of what it is, it starts at 40 with each successive year being about an 8% increase from current hourly pay.

I don't think it's a big deal if it's posted.

The proposed scale will be as follows (if voted in):

Year 1: $40
Year 2: $46
Year 3: $47

Upgrade will be during year two pay.

For lifers it tops out about $53 in 2023.

What about new hire bonus? Will it be a set bonus or does it change?
