I mean how do you seriously ask for gains in the future when you just took this thing? There's no leverage anymore, Alaska got what they wanted out of the TA. Line bidding ain't coming back. Probably best to stay on this contract for awhile because if you're Alaska you're stupid not to demand concessions in the next one too, the pilots already proved they'd fall for it. It's a sad day for the industry.

I believe a lot of the Yes voters are thinking they're gonna get out in the next 1-2 years so they dgaf. I'll hope for the same but I'd never vote to lower the industry.

"We have to vote yes and get the jets now and then we can have leverage later!" IDIOTS.

What's even more sad are the yes voters who aren't planning on leaving. This thing is full of holes. Plenty of opportunities here for the company to have their cake and eat it too.

This TA did not "secure Horizon's future" or "return jets to Horizon." They just sold all bargaining rights for the next eight years and gave them a concessionary contract the company can now implement on their terms.

The company can still farm out 14 airplanes before they need to abide but the "job protection" components of this agreement which gives us plenty of time to shrink. Meanwhile, they will tell us about how the jets are still coming so they can implement the TA, but that buys them time to place orders and dangle the carrot while we see Q400's expire.

At least you didn't agree to fly 70 seat aircraft for 50 seat pay.

Or agree to be paid "historical credit" per leg that the company makes up instead of marketing block pay the rest of the industry recognizes? Or have a PBS system that doesn't abide by seniority and globalizes for company need? Or have a pilot association that is paid for by the company to work for the company?

Because ya, that would be real stupid!

Just to comfirm... The new agreement is to fly the 175's for current Q-payrates? Are the payrates listed on the Horizon page of APC accurate?

Thanks for the info.

Current Q rates + 1.5%. Raises around 1.5% with baseball arbitration in a few years.

Shame on the 70%. A majority of the group is business-blind. QX is now a dead-end carrier; a real shame.

Thank God they did it allowed QX to thrive in the race to the bottom…Thank you to the most courageous guys an gals ever to fly in the regionals, The truth the rest of the chickens in the industry said Oh boy I can go fly the routes in shiny new jets aka you know you you are why you tell me to take a stand , Stand the hell up for yourself Ill feed my family lots of bench warmers talking complete crap beating their chest telling me and my bros *** to do come walk in our shoes for more than a few years

Vote Under duress

This wasn't a choice thats the reality. Life will be very disappointing and so will your career if you choose to think everything is going to go according to your idealistic views. Idealistic I would have loved nothing more than saying HELL NO! Realistically this was yes vote under duress. Why.
I guarantee Skywest would be flying those jets immediately.
SAP-Would be useless with reduced pilot roster.
We are at top of pay scales for ERJ even at Q4 rates=Reality
Are Jets coming? absolutely but who is going to fly them=Answered now
How is this concessionary? Ill debate you because Ive set down my IDEALISTIC glasses reluctantly and look at this REALISTCALLY. Im ****ed has the next person but we have to be logical but I guess like a smarter man than me said Im business stupid.

Some really good analysis and questions raised by Phteven.

I will just add this little nugget from the company's official announcement:

More information to come shortly on the timeline, including when we will know if jet flying has been awarded to our airline.

IF??? What more is there to be settled? Probably reading too much into it but did cause me to read that statement twice.

Horizon still must submit thier bid to the AAG board to get the new jet CPA. Our impotent "union" never made this clear, but if you look back at everything DC and BL have said over the last 6 months, this was clear... The labor contracts are just one piece of the puzzle in our "commitment to compete"
