Default jumpseating on Horizon

Looking for info on reliability to JS on Horizon, specifically from STS to LAX on Q400. Is weight ever an issue for JS, etc.

thx,

Sounds like I will have some competition haha. Been doing it for about 8 months now. I have never seen it be weight restricted even with every seat taken. The only times I've had an issue are when for fog or whatever reason the flight gets canceled the night before and the 6am flight gets canceled as well. Its happened twice to me. So make sure you check on that before going to the airport. And of course you can always jump on the airport express and go through SFO or OAK. They offer a 50 percent discount to crew if you buy your ticket online if you choose to go that route. Also I've seen other jump seaters a few times, mostly American guys but most of the time its been open for me.

I actually used to work the gate at STS for QX. Never had a problem getting a JS on when I worked. It was rare that a flight was 100% full and had a JS, but we only had a handful of commuters at the time.

Sounds like things are getting busier there these days. Just show up at the counter at least 40min prior and your good.

We're never weight restricted. The summer loads are probably gonna make things tighter but it should be doable.

On time for the most part until the **** hits the fan this fall and we run out of FOs

Shouldn't get weight restricted now that the runway is longer. Maybe in the peak of the summer but it shouldn't be a problem. Good luck.
