I think this summer will be bad... crap staffing, runway closure at JFK, t-storms, ground delay programs...it will be IROP galore.... but with that comes RSA galore which will bring out all the RSA/VDA wh0res.
The question is... how soon do you guys wants a CBA? Refrain from picking up the RSA/VDAs, taking extensions and doing the company favors, I bet your a$$ we could have a TA this fall.
I'll just keep on dreaming...

Yeah this. Don't worry. We'll still have guys/gals picking up RSAs, RTFs, VDAs. The operation will be fine. Make sure you extend when we're in single runway operation in the summer, that'll show em. Give in to complaceny when you want to fatigue but don't want to fill out paperwork. It's gonna be a long summer with all red grid, no vacations, 3hr EDCTs, unstacking due to high bid advisors.

What you are advocating is most specifically illegal and if the Company feels they have damages, they can go after ALPA.

Not true at all. The representing agency can be (and has been) held responsible for the illegal work actions that some of their membership have taken upon themselves to do.

Take a look at 3/31 coverage

Two things to consider here:
1. ALPA can not and will not encourage any job action or change to the status quo. This is in fact illegal.
2. It is up to each of us as an individual to decide what we are or are not willing to work. RSA is essentially free labor for the company. It pays straight time and gains you nothing. Essentially every 18 RSA shifts per month picked up equals one less pilot on the property. VDA is another story entirely. It's up to the pilot to choose to work, and the pay at 190% is punitive to the company.
