Perhaps. I think in the future it may slowly start to trend that way, but until then, LCCs will be the destination of my applications and resumes.

My regional airline contemporaries who are now logging 121 pic (many who have a degree), will continue to be more competitive for the big 3 (and even FedEx and UPS) than I will for the foreseeable future. Be that as it may, I have a pretty good idea where I'm a competitive applicant until I finish my degree. Realistically, that makes LCCs desirable to me, and hopefully (maybe) even attainable.

To those who think JetBlue has nothing to offer a newhire looking for the next step in their career, not everyone is competitive or qualified everywhere there's movement or a vacancy. Places you would never even consider are prayers answered to those of us stuck in low places.

Amazing...

This conversation is amazing.

Well we would need a cba but after that you can’t compete if guys want to fly the big planes or live in different parts of the country.
The only time that will change is years and years from now when the majors will be finished with retirements and we will be starting ours. They will be stagnant and we should have the movement up the list. It’s all cyclical.

We have plenty of pilots that live in MCO area and they choose to commute to JFK just to get off of reserve. Mid-seniority MCO Airbus FO can actually be a line holding Airbus CA in JFK... Something to think about.

So is FLL junior? If so, u think it will stay that way for sometime (maybe another year)?

That's 15 years away. Why would guys come here before then? Other than the low qualifications guys of course.

I think if you rate them it’d go:

Mco
Lgb
Fll
Bos
Jfk

It could change like the wind blows man. Nothing’s guaranteed anywhere. We could get bought and shutdown the fla bases in less than a year.

So if we get an industry standard contract you still think we won't get qualified guys? Honestly there really isn't a point to do this with you. Yeah few will come here the growth will slow even further which will make nobody apply here so we will probably furlough.....we are all doomed. Update those apps guys.

I have a 4 year degree in aviation, military flight time, 121 TPIC and a guaranteed interview with Delta in a year and a half. I feel like I have a great shot anywhere once I build my total time. Currently only at 2300 hrs. I'm by no means deserving and fully plan to work my tail off to get somewhere. I can tell you that jetBlue still looks attractive. Especially if they are on track for a new CBA. Its not always about the biggest paycheck. As nice as that would be it is a huge downside looking at a commute the rest of my career.

I understand the angst of the commute, but man if you are a year and a half from a guaranteed DAL, I’d have a really hard time advising you to jump ship for this **** show, and all of the unknowns we are currently facing. Especially if you are trying to get into our most senior base. DAL will give you so many more options on shaping your career, and at least you are on left seat pay until you get that interview.

It’s your life, your future, we are all just trying to read the tea leaves. I wish you the best of luck in making it work for you and your’s.

Yea 1800 but it'll take over a year to staff any real reserve rules. Theyll have to pay us off in order to leak the new rules in gradually.

If you can get to any real airline out there, avoid B6. We will NEVER have significant movement and the place is run as cheap as the 2 regionals I flew for.
TA is at least 12-18 months away because the company has zero incentive to improve conditions until they reach a staffing crisis- Too many juicers here for that.
Good luck wherever you go:cool:
