Default On Time Performance...

Here are the government's rankings of the leading U.S. airlines and their on-time performance for December. The federal government counts a flight as on time if it arrives no more than 14 minutes behind schedule.

1. United Airlines, 84.6 percent

2. Delta Air Lines 83.5 percent

3. Alaska Airlines, 83.4 percent

4. Virgin America, 82.5 percent

5. American Airlines, 82.0 percent

6. Hawaiian Airlines, 80.8 percent

7. Spirit Airlines, 80.4 percent

8. Southwest Airlines, 79.1 percent

9. SkyWest Airlines, 76.5 percent

10. ExpressJet, 76.4 percent

11. Frontier Airlines, 75.8 percent

12. JetBlue Airways, 74.1 percent

Total for all covered airlines: 80.3 percent

Hey uncle joel, look who's in last place...again! Just another example of a failed labor model.

Yeah, but the majors just cancel the RJ flights to make themselves look better.....

PS, look at the regional airlines on the list, STILL ahead of us.

So embarrassing.

Default ontime

If they hadn't destroyed our pilot culture and goodwill by not respecting us as professionals, maybe things would be better because we might go above and beyond job descriptions and printed responsibilities. Too bad they continue to insult us with substandard contract offers and a contracts that blackmail us into cleaning airplanes.

Starting this year the regional flights are required to be included in mainline OTP reporting, so there goes that excuse away from our inept management.

I'd say if you're one of the 200 VP's of Flight Ops you should be spending more time with your families soon.

But let's board with no pilots

Have inflight at the jet 5 extra minutes before the pilots.

OTP!

I still hear of Captains clicking off the brake without getting through the proper steps of SOP just to get everyone the "On Time". Seriously? Get with it fellas. Do your job! Nothing more and nothing less.

Guess how Bethume fixed Continentals abysmal baggage system? Compensation incentives.

How did Herb get SWA pilots to take off on time and turn a jet in 35min? Compensation.

How will JB find its OTP success? Maybe the answer is in a potato farm. Or BS's venture project.

Please Lord Baby Jesus let them implement a "Bag of potatoes if you hit XX% On Time" policy.

1 - I don't think many people would hit the "incentive" number
2 - I'd love to see the crew room/seat backs littered with potatoes

Wow, turns out I have a login here that I haven't used in 11 years. Welcome back, me.

I'd like to know where we're contractually obligated to clean. The worst that can happen is to refuse to clean after non-revving and eventually have your non-rev benefits removed, though I've never heard of that happening. It appears merely the threat is enough to keep people in line.
