At least more than 1 out of 10 posts is actually about JB. Can't say that about the Thunderdome.

I created this site as the original alternative to Bluepilots. It was started pre potato farm. I considered a Facebook page but opted for web board.

It was started during the negotiation process of Contract 1 as a unifying tool to “get the message out”. I knew many people stayed away from bluepilots due to its reputation of being very political and immature.

When I didn’t allow politics, some people called it “the safe space” and went back to thunder dome. Ok see ya. There are enough spaces in the world where you can rage your opinions all you want, jblupilots isn’t one of them.

It’s not a juicer or a hater site. It’s a collection of mostly level headed people who are looking for info and sharing ideas.

The motto is discuss the idea not the person, so personal attacks aren’t ok. Level headed arguments are welcome as long as the conversation stays mature.

Again, I find this site to be pretty good. I’d rate it second to jblupilots. I’ve seen a lot of webboards and most turn into **** shows. I won’t allow that to happen. I’d rather shut it down if became another space to divide people.

I guess I can’t edit my post after some time has passed so i just want to add one thing…..

I’ve had to boot a small handful of people who can’t help themselves. One being of the far left and one being of the far right. I also recently let go of a moderator who was a bit too reactionary on the left and couldn’t see that most guys have good intentions.

But you do allow for politics in its own sub forum where it should be.

Yes, I make sure it stays off the main “rumor” section.

Political banter keeps the board alive in between questions about the company or events that require discussion.

Political fanatics go to a pilot forum to talk politics. Everyone else doesn't.

This. I “lost” my BP password a few years ago, after one of the psychos there told another dude who was decidedly liberal that he hoped his wife and daughters got raped, which would then teach him the value of multiple guns for home defense. I pm’d that jackwagon and invited him to say that crap in person, (it wasn’t even directed to me, and I happen to be a gun owner as well… but going after dudes’ families? Really?!) and told him making those comments in person would likely result in him losing some teeth. Said internet tough guy then ran to the base chief. I decided my career and blood pressure were worth more than being on a web-board where everyone hides behind their screen names after that. Solidly a fan of Irv’s board, where people disagree but at least try to keep a modicum of civility about it.

Bluepilots is an embarrassment and honestly concerning at times. One or two actual threads that are company/flying related on the main page and the rest is full of crazy conspiracy theories, far right wing ideas and lots and lots of hate for anyone who doesn't share the same opinion.
