Hello, my company's reciprocal jumpseat agreement says we are approved on Jet Blue. I need to get from Bermuda to JFK first week of June. I assume that after listing on myIDTravel I would go to the check in counter, perhaps pay a tax. Anything else I need to know or do? Thanks!

I believe you pay the tax on myidtravel. Not sure you can pay at the counter. You definitely need to list prior and when you do you will have to add a CC to the record.

Not sure about the tax. List on myIDtravel, check in at the counter and fill out a jumpseat request, make sure you have your company ID, airman certificate, and medical. Easy peasy.

Also just to make sure you understand, like every other US passenger airline, you can't cockpit jumpseat internationally offline. It's cabin-only so there has to be an empty seat in the back.

You'll want to clarify to the gate agents that you are a cabin-only jumpseater (due to it being an international flight), and that your airline has a reciprocal Jumpseat agreement with us. This is slightly different than listing as an offline non-rev standby (which would require you to purchase a ZED fare).

A lot of gate agents abroad are unfamiliar with the very concept of offline jumpseating, and get further confused when it's an international flight and you're only able to occupy a cabin seat. Many will think that you have to list as a non-rev standby (on a ZED fare), but if you have a reciprocal Jumpseat agreement with us that's not restricted otherwise, you can cabin-only Jumpseat (which is much cheaper and minimizes fees/taxes vs. listing as a ZED non-rev).

Hope I didn't muddy that up too badly--just don't want you to run into problems and end up stuck somewhere.

I jumpseat a lot internationally and I might not be understanding your point but I’ve never gotten directly to the gate like this coming back to the US. I’ve always gone to the check-in desk outside security and talked to them there.

Some places charge tax, some don’t. Most need to check your passport and do a security interview before they let you pass security to get to the gate.
