Not for much longer, heard JB is finally gonna plant a West Coast potato farm! Or invest in a start-up app that specializes in potato farming. Can't remember the specifics, but it's exciting and Delta's in TROUBLE!

The west coast is our biggest failure. Period.
Rumors of more gates and flights in SFO (our new terminal opens this summer.) Maybe an SFO/OAK/SJC base vs LAX/ LGB base? Discuss. Unless there is a LOA the "industry-leading paring parameters" stymie new bases, IMO! |

What section of the contract are you looking at that leads you to this conclusion?
A new base would have to comply with the "industry-leading" pairing parameters which require a certain trip mix and 5% of pairings would have to be 1-day pairings. Other than SFO to LGB, SFO only operates transcons with Mint equipped aircraft. Unless something drastic changes to SFO and the company decides to add back old city pairs or adds new ones the flying in SFO may support a crew base but the contract as written does not permit it. |
