Just got my TBNT letter this morning. I had applied for 6 years and I guess I blew my opportunity?? Don’t really have a plan now, as that is where I wanted to be! Good luck to everyone else!!!!

2. With all the great opportunities in aviation right now, how can JB be the only acceptable option for you? |

1. I think others will chime in, but I don't think that means you wouldn't get hired next time.

Not to say this place isn’t and can’t be a good career. Several of us came here planning on bailing for greener pastures and stayed. Some tried to leave and never could. Some never wanted to be anywhere else. If this is where you want to be keep trying, do interview prep, and keep apps out elsewhere. I know several who took a couple interviews to get on here (including a pilot executive). If you want it be persistent. With over 6k pilots behind hired next year by the big 6 airlines, and us trying to hire over 500, I don’t see JB being able to be picky for very long. |

Industry best pay, lots of retirements/career movement, good work rules and good/great profit sharing. What in your opinion outweighs those realities? Legitimately curious? |

I don’t think I’ve met anyone that’s interested in working for just Jetblue or Hawaiian. Two totally different domicile locales. |

Garage to gate for me at JB can be done in as little as 45 minutes. My wife and I love our home and where we live. I flat out refuse to commute and taking a legacy job (with the exception of AA) means uprooting our lives. Not worth it. I also have no desire to fly a 777 around the world. I did all that fancy international pilot stuff before I came to the airlines and I find it unremarkable and tiresome. I’d fly east coast turns for the rest of my career if I could and after 6 type ratings I’m perfectly fine with the Airbus being my last. I haven’t touched a plane in almost a month and the beach has been mighty fine the past few weeks. Not saying this is the case for OP, but just my perspective. |

I wasn't chasing a paycheck, didn't want to live in a DAL base, have been all over the world and am not interested in international flying (though the ability to non-rev there is a plus!), and after passing many, MANY senior DAL pilots in the terminals over the years, had decided that I did not want to be part of a pilot group who think they are better than everyone else. (not saying all of them are like that, but many are). QoL was much more important to me, so I choose JB. |

Believe it or not, money and international flying are not the highest priority for everyone. I can see not being interested in a legacy if you don’t live in one of their bases. If you’re a Floridian dead-set on staying put and don’t want to commute, you start running out of options quickly.

Kudos to you for being where you want to be in life. It certainly does make the job much mo betta. The first round is on me should we ever meet in person... |

Got it from their discussion about their next crew base here on post 24. Using a little google it looks like they will hit 200 in the next 18 months, so it looks like their claim is wrong in that thread. Maybe 260 was a future goal, or maybe they just got it wrong with a misunderstanding or something and their source said 160 and it was misheard/misread as 260? No clue. Regardless, at least talking to my buddies there (and a little from that whole thread), it sounds like BOS will be a base for them at some point. Perhaps they will give virtual bases another shot in the current negotiations like they kind of did in their last (current) contract (but never really implemented it and they shut it down before it even started) instead of doing a real base. Not sure. Not a delta expert. But my original point to the guy with the TBNT was that if I lived in/near BOS I wouldn’t shy away from a legacy (especially delta) just because JB has a base there, as I bet DL can and will support a pilot base there (virtual/real) in the next couple years with their planned growth depending on how much of it is RJ vs mainline.

He's not answering, but I think if it was a geography thing he would have just said so.
I suspect it's "culture". Or qualifications. |

uhhhhhh this was not me that posted this......a buddy of mine decided to be funny and posted this without me knowing. He is not a fan of this site. I tried to delete it, but cannot find any way to do that??
I do have a 4 year degree and after talking to several of my friends at jetBlue, I will wait my 6 months and apply again. I guess there are several people at jblue that interviewed twice and got hired on the second go round. Anybody know the logic behind the having to wait 6 months before you can apply again? |

Has anyone in Phase 2 gotten any of their PRIA stuff back? Or have you gotten any other info from GIS besides "still processing"?

Same. When I spoke to GIS last week they said employment and education had all been verified and they were processing the remaining PRIA.

I also received the phase 2 complete welcome to the pool email the other day. How do you know if you’re still waiting on additional items.

I have a friend that interviewed January and his online status says everything is complete and sent to JB. But he hasn't gotten a phase 2 complete email yet. |

I assume its hire right now (swallowed GIS) that is handling your background? I heard you can check your status online. How was that process for you?

Any idea of where you check that online? 2/11 interview in phase 2 and from the previous threads and posts just curious if i can keep an eye on it on online how i could accomplish that. I am currently a 135 guy and I know tracking down all my training records is probably a nightmare from the different training facilities. |
